The Plan!
We finally got round to making up a Trip Itenerary (N.B. Highly likely to change and so not in the slightest bit reliable):

Argentina:
3rd Salta: Spend the day in Salta (?) and get a night bus to Buenos Aires
4th-7th Buenos Aires: Fiona and I plan to take advantage of free tango lessons and generally relax for four or so days in Argentina´s capital
8th + 9th Mendoza: A day spent seeing the city, with the option of a second day doing something active (cheap skiing/ horseriding/white water rafting!)
Chile:
10th Santiago: A day spent in Chile´s capital. No more, as we hate Chilean prices!
11th + 12th Val Cariza: Wine tasting in the vineyards!
Peru
13th Arica: A day spent mostly travelling and border crossing, no doubt.
14th- 18th Arequipa: Time to spend looking at this (supposedly) beautiful city, with a two day trip to Colca Canyon (the second deepest canyon on the planet! The other´s a bit further North) in the middle.
19th- 24th Mancorra: In the very north of Peru, a cheap and friendly beach resort where we plan to just sit and do nothing for a good few days at the end of our backpacking. Lovely!
25th-28th Lima: Buffer time travelling to Lima for our flights, and a chance to stock up on pirated books and Dvds that are impossible to carry while travelling!

So it´s no longer quite so chaotic, but there´s every chance we´ll be detoured on the way (have you seen ... yet? It´s just unmissable!) and we had a bit of a panic when we realised just how little time we have left (we need at least another two months travelling! It´s mad). Hopefully we´ve factored in enough time for nightbuses and general travelling, but if not the plan is very flexible.
I can´t wait to get to Mancorra beach at the end now! Seriously looking forwards to just relaxing there.

Out of time again, but I´m loving Argentina so far (we went into a shopping mall in Chile! It was just overwhelming...). It´s not been a bad couple of days for passport stamps either- Bolivia exit stamp, Chile entry and exit and then Argentina in under 24 hours!
